BWCC's First Lady

Lady Alfredia Bailey is a native of East St. Louis, Illinois and a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Art and is certified to teach art grades K-12.  In addition to being a classroom teacher, Lady Bailey is an art instructor, and co-founder and chief administrator of Miracle School of the Arts where she obtained an Administrative Certificate from the School of Tomorrow in Lewisville, TX.   She is a licensed Social and Senior Missionary with the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC), holds a Certificate of Completion for a 42-hour Addictions Academy from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and is a member of the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE). In addition, Lady Bailey is founder and CEO of Freedasigns, an exclusive African American arts company that features original pieces by Lady Bailey and has come to be known as art that “ministers to the mind and soul.”  Her work was first displayed in 1990 at an art show in Atlanta, Georgia where she featured her famous African American Church Scene series.  She has since held numerous public and private showings throughout the Continental United States.

As First Lady of the Bibleway Church Complex (The Complex), Lady Bailey oversees the Women’s Ministry that includes the Missionary and Women’s Council departments, and the Ministers and Deacons Wives’ Guild.  She is also the church announcer and serves as the Life School instructor for the Christian Development Course that is designed for new converts.  Additionally, under her facilitation of the Christian Social Graces etiquette course, women of The Complex learn how to conduct themselves socially—especially in the areas of communication and hospitality.

Because of Lady Bailey’s artistic background and creative talents, The Complex is seasonally decorated and program coordinators enjoy her originality in preparing scenery for annual church events.  The Complex’s annual Seven Brides of Christ Ceremony, instrumented by Lady Bailey, highlights her talent.  The elegance and uniqueness of this event changes each year and always overwhelms its audiences.

Lady Alfredia Bailey has devoted her skills and talents to the service of the Lord and fully supports Pastor Bailey in the ministry.  She is a dynamitic and spirit-filled speaker who has a very challenging and demanding speaking agenda; however, in the midst of her very busy church schedule, she has found a way to remain a devoted wife and mother.

She has been married to Pastor Bailey since 1979.  They have four children and three grandchildren.
