Attachment: Deliver Me From Me.11.2.14.ppt

Romans 7:18, 24,

Oh retched man that I am who shall deliver me from the bondage of this death. In other words there is something in the body that is causing death. God placed conscience and will in every man. What is your will? Is it to do right or wrong?

Some people suggest that I have will power, who do I need deliverance from? I need deliverance from myself. Then with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but the flesh wants to serve the law of sin. Because we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God!

Everyone has something that they need deliverance from (2 Corinthians 7:1) Filthiness of the flesh and spirit. Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness in the flesh and spirit.

Noun That Acts Like A Verb

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. Did you know sin could keep you from being in good health?

Romans 10:9-Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteous; and with the mouth

2 Corinthians 7:8-10 for though I made you sorry with a letter, I don’t repent, though I did repent; for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

The Battle between the two   “I’s” (Romans 7:14-25) the Holy Spirit never guides you wrong.

He also said, For, I know that in me, dwells no good thing (Romans 7:18)

The Flesh Nature

Shapen in Iniquity (Ps 51:5)

Deceitful above all (Jer. 17:9)

None righteous (Rom 3:10-12)

Produces after its kind (Gen 6:4)

Receive not the things of the Spirit-(1 Cor. 2:14, Eph 4:18)

Carnal mind is enmity (Rom. 8:7-8)

Conversation in times past (Eph. 2:3)

Who Is The Holy Spirit?

Who Is the Holy Spirit?

 The Holy Spirit is eternal-perpetual

A Noun that acts like a verb

1)    Not an inanimate power or force, but personality (“He” not “It”)

John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:2; 16: 7, 8, 13, 14

Holy Spirit is needed to purge the sins of the flesh.

2.) Eternal, having neither beginning nor end (Hebrews 9; 14)

3.)  Omnipotent Luke 1:35

The Holy Spirit is the Power of the Highest!

4.)  Omnipresent Psalm 139:7- Presence everywhere at all times. You cannot separate the Spirit of God from God. God can send his Spirit to dwell within us, but it does not diminish his capacity.

5.)  Omniscient-1 Corinthians 2:9-11-Eyes have not seen ears have not heard.  In reference to two of the gates of the body ( eye and ear gate)

Apart from the Holy Spirit we cannot even begin to understand what God has prepared for us/ for those that love him. The Holy Ghost will speak what "He" has heard from the Father. For the Spirit searches all things.  Ye the deep things of God, for what man knows the thing of a man, except the Spirit of man which is in him. Your human spirit knows you. We were made in the image of God.

1 Corinthians 2:11

Comparatively, the Spirit of God knows you and your human spirit. We have received the Spirit of God that we might know the things given to us of God.  Apart from the Spirit, you are subject to neglect and know  what God has given to you freely in Grace, Mercy, and Much more.

The Holy Spirit is a replenishing, unending, and unyielding reservoir. Accordingly, for them that love the Lord, all things work together for those that Love the Lord.

The Spirit –Acts like a verb

Judges and Purges

(Isa 4:4) (59:19)

The Holy Spirit lifts up a standard against the devil.

The Holy Spirit moved upon the face of the deep.

NOTE:You cannot separate God from the Holy Spirit no more that you can separate you from your human spirit.

The Holy Spirit shall come upon you and birth things in your human spirit.  So when you say, “I thought of that,” the ‘That” of your thoughts, represents the birth of Holy Spirit in you. The flesh is weak, but the Spirit is willing.

 Acts 19:12

Have Ye Received The Holy Spirit Since Ye Yet Believed?

If not,  "Into what then were you baptized?"

The Holy Spirit has a personality. Noun

He has a will. (exercises choice, discretion) 1 Corinthians 12:11

Do you know the Characteristics of the Holy Spirit?

The Minds Battlefield-What goes on in your head?

Romans 7:23-24

Warring members-who shall deliver me?

2 Corinthians 10:1-5

Pulling Down Strongholds

Bring in captivity “Everything” under the obedience of Christ!

Most of the time, we are defeated as Saints, on the battlefield of our mind.

If you allow fear to enter our mind we can become defeated.

True believers are dead to sin; as no man can be both dead and alive.

As the human body struggles to stay alive during the time of death; likewise, does the death of sin which battles to rule our lives.

Romans 7-Paul examines himself-his intentions warring against his flesh (sin)

Sometime we need to take account of ourselves in the mirror and realize that we need help.

Cast down imaginations of all things that exalt itself above God.

Things that are pure and lovely think on these things. Call and use the “Word” of God to win the battle in the mind. (Psychological Warfare) the enemy –in words, deeds, actions, or circumstances-will try to get you to believe that God is not for you.

There are things out in the world that will attempt to discredit your Faith and your walk as a Christian. Walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. There is no condemnation for those that walk after the Spirit. Do not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Every time sin tries to remind you of your past, remind yourself of your future in Christ!

Take your walk with Jesus Christ personal!

Be persuaded in your heart and mind in that nothing separates you from Jesus Christ!

The Threefold Nature of Man- Carnal, Natural, & Spiritual

The Carnal, The Natural, & The Spiritual

(In Greek- Soma, Pneuma, Psyche)

(Eye Gate, Nose Gate, Ear Gate, Mouth Gate, Feel Gate)

The body touches the material world through the gates of the body.

Gates of the Soul uses the five senses as its agents and for self expression and communion with the outside world.

Study the corresponding gates.

Imagination-Soul Seeing, Conscience-Soul Detecting, Memory-Soul Recalling, Reason- Soul Comparing, Affection-Soul Feeling

Corresponding Spirit Faculties

The spirit receives impressions from the outward material of the soul and body.

Faith, Hope, Reverence, Prayer, Worship

Remain anchored in the Lord as he opens doors that no man can close.

The New Testament references the conscience being seared with a hot iron. Sin impacts every dimension of man.

Sin distorts the conscience of man; and even with that, the conscience that God put in every man an idea to worship or a measure of faith, but what sin does it distorts that and some begin to worship the creature more than the creator.

It is an expectation that the whole man be preserved blameless until the coming of Jesus Christ. Apart from the Holy Ghost we cannot make it. 2 Corinthians 7:1 “ therefore having these promises, dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Did you know that filthiness can dwell in the flesh and in the spirit?

Note: The filthiness of your flesh can be seen, but the filthiness of your spirit can be hidden.

(Matthew 15:19, Matthew 12:34)

If the seal is broken, then the contents cannot be preserved. (We are sealed unto the day of redemption for our bodies as our souls have already been redeemed.

Sanctification is not just for one dimension of man, it’s for the whole being of man.

Genesis 6:5 -Psalms 51:10- Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me (the human spirit.)

Man has spirit different from his soul. It is that dimension of man that is meant to touch and commune with God. We comprehend god in the Inner Man.

Sanctification requires us to bring our soul into submission of the spirit which is beholding and reflecting God.

 Romans 8:26-27

The Threefold Nature of Man

Is there a difference between a person who is born of the threefold nature and one that is not born of the threefold nature?

Trichotomy- teaching that humans consist of three parts. (Body, Soul, and Spirit)

Dichotomy-teaching that humans consist of two parts (Body and Soul)

Most biblical scholars in the early church saw man as a threefold (Trichotomous) being

We believe in monotheism (One God) that manifests himself in many forms. Father in creation, Son in redemption, Holy Ghost in redemption

Thessalonians 5:23

Paul writes” And the very God of peace sanctifies you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We teach that the soul has been redeemed! I have been sanctified, but we also teach that the body waits for the day of redemption. (The rapture)

Therefore we must pray and crucify the deeds of the flesh daily.

Hebrews 4:12

“The word of god is quick (means the Word of God is Living) alive, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow (body) and is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart.”

The word has the ability and is capable to touch every dimension of your person

Man in his physical and spiritual makeup, was made for two worlds the Spiritual world and Physical world.

How do we really touch the Spirit realm?

The tabernacle and its Courtyard (Body) is a type of the threefold nature of man. Outer court Inner Court (Soul), and the Most Holy Place (Spirit)

Eph. 3:16-19 the portion of our being which is meant to and commune with God
