The Threefold Nature of Man
Life School Consecration Week- October 22, 2014
Is there a difference between a person who is born of the threefold nature and one that is not born of the threefold nature?
Trichotomy- teaching that humans consist of three parts. (Body, Soul, and Spirit)
Dichotomy-teaching that humans consist of two parts (Body and Soul)
Most biblical scholars in the early church saw man as a threefold (Trichotomous) being
We believe in monotheism (One God) that manifests himself in many forms. Father in creation, Son in redemption, Holy Ghost in redemption
Thessalonians 5:23
Paul writes” And the very God of peace sanctifies you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We teach that the soul has been redeemed! I have been sanctified, but we also teach that the body waits for the day of redemption. (The rapture)
Therefore we must pray and crucify the deeds of the flesh daily.
Hebrews 4:12
“The word of god is quick (means the Word of God is Living) alive, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow (body) and is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart.”
The word has the ability and is capable to touch every dimension of your person
Man in his physical and spiritual makeup, was made for two worlds the Spiritual world and Physical world.
How do we really touch the Spirit realm?
The tabernacle and its Courtyard (Body) is a type of the threefold nature of man. Outer court Inner Court (Soul), and the Most Holy Place (Spirit)
Eph. 3:16-19 the portion of our being which is meant to and commune with God
