The Carnal, The Natural, & The Spiritual

(In Greek- Soma, Pneuma, Psyche)

(Eye Gate, Nose Gate, Ear Gate, Mouth Gate, Feel Gate)

The body touches the material world through the gates of the body.

Gates of the Soul uses the five senses as its agents and for self expression and communion with the outside world.

Study the corresponding gates.

Imagination-Soul Seeing, Conscience-Soul Detecting, Memory-Soul Recalling, Reason- Soul Comparing, Affection-Soul Feeling

Corresponding Spirit Faculties

The spirit receives impressions from the outward material of the soul and body.

Faith, Hope, Reverence, Prayer, Worship

Remain anchored in the Lord as he opens doors that no man can close.

The New Testament references the conscience being seared with a hot iron. Sin impacts every dimension of man.

Sin distorts the conscience of man; and even with that, the conscience that God put in every man an idea to worship or a measure of faith, but what sin does it distorts that and some begin to worship the creature more than the creator.

It is an expectation that the whole man be preserved blameless until the coming of Jesus Christ. Apart from the Holy Ghost we cannot make it. 2 Corinthians 7:1 “ therefore having these promises, dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Did you know that filthiness can dwell in the flesh and in the spirit?

Note: The filthiness of your flesh can be seen, but the filthiness of your spirit can be hidden.

(Matthew 15:19, Matthew 12:34)

If the seal is broken, then the contents cannot be preserved. (We are sealed unto the day of redemption for our bodies as our souls have already been redeemed.

Sanctification is not just for one dimension of man, it’s for the whole being of man.

Genesis 6:5 -Psalms 51:10- Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me (the human spirit.)

Man has spirit different from his soul. It is that dimension of man that is meant to touch and commune with God. We comprehend god in the Inner Man.

Sanctification requires us to bring our soul into submission of the spirit which is beholding and reflecting God.

 Romans 8:26-27
